“Make it the task of your mourning to explore what he had expected of you, had hoped for you, had wished to happen to you.”
Rainer Maria Rilke (via Why We Look by Marvin Heiferman)
Farewell my beloved Alistair, cat whisperer, in-house art critic.

We had many conversations in the months since his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer about what I might, could or should do after the inevitable, what he wanted me to do. In a nutshell: keep painting, sharing my art, teach, and no big decisions for a year.
For three and a half decades he gave me the space and encouragement to become, to find, and to be me. That doesn’t end, though it changes.

What wonderful wise words they are Marion. You both had the best of times, wonderful experiences , and you shall carry on being the best of yourself in his memory.
Sending much love to you.
I am so sorry for your loss. Wish you lot of strenght. Annemieke

Oh, Marion… I am deeply sorry for your loss of Alistair…a marvelous art critic and loved life companion. May your grief be balanced and tempered by the depth of your love, and may fond memories cheer you when you most need it.
May God’s deep comfort and the Shepherd’s tender care enfold you as you grieve the Cat Whisperer.
Tenderly,
