Chatting yesterday with an artist whose work I enjoy, love, admire, find inspirational [insert other similar enthusiasms here], the issue of imposter syndrome came up. That feeling or belief that you’re not really an artist because [insert any number of reasons here, ones that you come up with yourself and those that others tell you].
I think the doubt is part of what separates the great artists from the chaff, a crucial part of a creative mind. Accept it, accept yourself, and go on.
Practice calling yourself an artist, and grow into the label.
