Rocky peaks and cloud-touching mountains, heather- and grass-covered hills, still lochs and tumbling rivers, dramatic waterfalls and single-track roads. These paintings are created in my studio from on-location sketches and visual memories, with repeat visits to a spot to explore it in different seasons and light. My aim is not to replicate nature but to explore the intensity of a location and to convey a sense of its essence.
